Interview with Wiener Zeitung
On the margins of the Fundamental Rights Forum, I had the chance to give an interview about my work on TTIP, The Good Lobby and data protection to one of the oldest, still published newspapers in the world, Wiener Zeitung.
By taking the Europe v Facebook initiative as a case in point, I explained that Max Schrems is a perfect example of a citizen lobbyist. He did not only win a lawsuit against one of the Web’s giants – which subsequently led to the invalidation of the EU-US Safe Harbor agreement – , but by doing so, ultimately helped to make personal data of the more than 500 million EU-citizens more secure. This is why I argue that Europe needs much more of his kind. The full interview (in German) is available here.
